Farringdon Locksmith & Tool Supplies Co. has been a family-run business since the 1930s, when Giovanni Pederzolli brought the family trade of knife grinding from Stenico, Italy, to London. Giovanni travelled through Green Park, Piccadilly, and Soho, offering his sharpening services to local businesses and chefs, establishing the foundation for the Pederzolli family legacy.
In the 1950s, Giovanni’s son, Angelo, shifted focus to locksmithing, opening a shop at 29 Exmouth Market in Clerkenwell, which became a staple in the community. The shop, situated in what was once called “Little Italy,” quickly gained recognition for its reliable locksmith and tool services.
After Angelo’s passing in 1983, his son Peter took over and expanded the business, turning it into a thriving hardware store while continuing to serve both local and city-wide clients with expert locksmith services. Peter’s son, Gianni, who started working at the shop at just three years old, embraced the trade and has become a highly skilled locksmith and engineer, specialising in fire door risk and remedial works.
Today, Farringdon Locksmith & Tool Supplies Co. remains a proud family business, continuing to serve the community with high-quality hardware supplies and trusted locksmith services for both private and corporate clients. The family motto, first coined by Angelo in 1967, still rings true:
